YALONDA JONES

DR. YALONDA JONES graduated with her B.S. in Special Education from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. She later went on to earn her master's degree in Instructional Leadership from Argosy University and her doctoral degree, having a focus on Curriculum and Teaching, from Northcentral University. 

 

Dr. Jones has taught and acted in a leadership role in the field of education for over twenty years. Throughout her journey as an educator, she has consulted with teachers on best practices to ensure compliance;  implemented mentoring programs for at-risk and under represented student populations and coordinated multicultural programs to bolster school climate and culture; as well as, formed positive community partnerships with business leaders and philanthropic organizations to support school remediation and mentoring initiatives. 

 

Dr. Yalonda Jones believes educators and administrators along with parental and community partnerships as stakeholders must develop and maintain a safe and harmonious learning environment supported with mutual trust, respect, high expectations and consistent discipline, while incorporating innovation and technology into a curriculum based on 21st Century skills in preparation for the competitive world. They educate with the end in mind in order to assess properly whether using common, formative, and/or summative assessments. They provide authentic, real-life experiences creating a literate environment consistent with a print rich atmosphere. They work harmoniously in the development of students’ academic, social, and emotional growth through modeling and encouragement in order to prepare students to be adequate contributors to society.

PRESIDENT

Tommy Hamilton

Minister Tommy Hamilton was a volunteer and a board member for the Boys and Girls club (building, finance, planning committees). He worked on the city Human Relations committee for Carbondale IL.  He also worked on the Carbondale Park pool/Water Park committee to create and to build a pool/Water Park for the community of Carbondale, IL. 

 

Minister Hamilton volunteered for the Red Cross in the Southern, IL region. He also participated in the Carbondale School District Policy Committee.

STEPHANIE HOSLEY

Stephanie Hosley taught in the field of education for 14 years as a General Education teacher and as a Special Education Teacher. She currently supports her local school district as a Specially Designed Instruction coach and is an expert in Urban Policy. She is a product of South Fulton County’s educational cycle.

YALONDA JONES

Dr. Yalonda N. Jones has served the educational community in the field of special education for over twenty years as a teacher for students with learning disabilities and emotional/behavioral disorders, as well as, a leader for services for exceptional children. She has a vested and passionate interest in restoring vitality of educational opportunities to underserved populations.

Dr. Jones has learned education is about cultivating and integrating knowledge and wisdom so that students (traditional and non-traditional) are empowered, strengthened, and aided in their continuous endeavor for personal development and excellence. Education incorporates an understanding of values, morals, and principles and the wisdom to demonstrate those principles on and off campus. Educating affords a chance to teach what was, what is, and prepare individuals for what is to come while upholding the integrity of teaching and acting as ambassadors to the field of education.

Charlene Jones

Charlene Jones graduated Summa Cum Laude from Georgia State University where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Film and Media with a minor in Theatre. She is currently working on her master’s degree in Education of the Arts (Theatre Education). Charlene has interned for CK Talent Management for the past 2 years and has dozens of theatrical shows and performances to her name. Charlene is a gifted singer, song writer, and violinist.

BOARD MEMBER

Barbara Jones

Pastor Barbara Jones is an expert grant writer. Pastor Jones sponsors a non-profit organization in which she assists surviving spouses with their economic and spiritual needs as they transition into life without their spouse. She also represents grandparents that pulled their grandchildren from the public school system due to dissatisfaction with the safety in schools.

CFO & Treasurer

Julian Pouncy

During the past 27 years, Julian Pouncy spent 10 years as a Financial Underwriter followed by 15 years as a Financial Advisor. He gained industry knowledge working with major firms such as Unum, The Hartford, Merrill Lynch, E*TRADE, Prudential, AIG and Northwestern Mutual.  Julian currently works with professionals and business owners to identify and prioritize their key financial goals. Then he structures and implements customized strategies that have a high probability of protecting income and achieving those goals.

Originally from Chattanooga Tennessee, Julian earned his BS degree in Engineering from the University of Tennessee and his MBA from the University of Phoenix. 

 

Julian has served the community by conducting financial workshops and seminars for civic and social groups as well as schools and non-profit organizations.  He has also coached 3 national championship youth financial literacy teams.

CAMILLE DOUGLAS

Camille Douglas has served in the food and nutrition industry for over 30 years. Her experience includes working as a school cafeteria worker and supervisor of her community’s Department of Corrections for females dietary kitchen 26 years, as well as 7 years in Momence Meadows Nursing Home beginning in 1976. She has her own business in which she creates and sells cloths and clothing items she makes.

Diana Martin

Diana Martin has served the public school system for 34 years as a Special Education Paraprofessional supporting elementary, middle, and high school students. She is licensed as an Instructor and Cosmetologist in the field of Cosmetology and has serviced clients regarding skin and hair care for over 30 years. She has over four years of experience with working at her community’s local Boys and Girls Club.

Keith Butler

Keith Butler was born in Pennsylvania but raised in Long Island, New York. He is entering his 28th year in education. In 1994 he moved to Atlanta, Georgia.

Keith has a B.S. in Health & Physical Education from Old Dominion University. He also earned a certification in Special Education from Norfolk State University.

Keith enjoys spending time with friends and family, traveling, bike riding and watching sports, especially MMA. Keith has been involved in real estate for over 20 years.
