At Precious Pearls Urban Leadership Academy (ppula), we believe it is important to reach inner city youth who are otherwise not afforded an opportunity for a high quality education. Urban is defined as the area near the center of a city, especially when associated with social and economic problems. PPULA propose to be open for the 2027-2028 school year, serving grades 4-8 increasing to grades K-3 in 7 years.

Our vision for Precious Pearls Urban Leadership Academy is preparing 21st century leaders with fundamental principles for a competitive global society while advancing their opportunities for being college and career ready.
Precious Pearls Urban Leadership Academy will start each day with worship and bible study and will have a focus on Liberal and Performing Arts education. PPULA will offer digital learning opportunities along with brain-based education, culinary arts, CTAE, sewing techniques, etiquette, and financial literacy.
The academic curriculum provided by Educational Epiphany will encompass ideologies including, but not limited to 6 pedagogical shifts for English/Language Arts, Social Studies, Science, Mathematics and/or the Technical subjects instruction required by the state standards; research-driven instructional practices; higher order performance based objectives; curriculum-driven opportunities teaching general and domain specific vocabulary/academic language and symbols; explicit instruction characterized by the gradual release process for English/Language Arts, Social Studies, Science, and/or Technical Subjects; explicit instruction characterized by the 5E for Science; balancing informational and literary texts in the English/Language Arts classroom; engaging students in evidence-based conversations linked to texts; ensuring text complexity; promoting disciplinary literacy in the core content areas; using manipulatives to teach understanding of abstract mathematical concepts; infusing informative, explanatory, and argumentative writing in the core content areas; and establishing and maintaining a meaningful multi-tiered feedback cycle.

Within the intermediate educational setting, it is the fundamental belief of Precious Pearls Urban Leadership Academy (ppula) that all young ladies are capable of achieving above and beyond expectation if afforded educational opportunities for success that may not be readily available to them in their own community. Young female students need a safe place where they can explore the potential of their talents, as well as discover, develop, grow, and project their energies toward a more positive goal.
